Mizuno Endure 24

Mizuno Wave Inspire shoe review  It all started back in 2011 when I went to the local running shop to get some proper running trainers. After the lady in the shop checked my knees, feet and gate she bought out 3 different shoes. Nike, Adidas and Mizuno. After a little run in each and not really knowing what I preferred I took the advise of the shop assistant and went for the Mizuno, plus I thought they made me look like a proper runner!  Since that day I have owned 3 pairs of Mizuno wa...

Mizuno Endure 24

I have been in a bit of a “no mans land” for a couple of weeks. I took a bit of time off to recover from my ultra marathon, then I have been a bit busy at work, and now I am tapering for my next marathon (the Southdowns Marathon) which is a week before Endure 24. So I haven’t done much running for a few weeks. I have been ticking over, but the main problem is that I have not been doing yoga for a few weeks and I feel really stiff. I have also let slip my hip strengthening and stretching exercise...

New team member. Pete Phillipson As the new team member to the Mizuno endurance 24 hour team I thought I better introduce and tell you a little about myself.  As a kid I was always active and tried many sports, football, judo, badminton, tennis to just name a few. It wasn't till I took up running in 2011 that I finally found a sport that I really loved.  It started with a few 5k races at the Mount Battern sports centre in Portsmouth and running around my new home of Gosport for the firs...

Shoe review by Angela Elshaw Well they arrived looking very snazzy!  Welcome feet to the Mizuno Wave Hayate Trail running shoes courtesy of Mizuno for the Ensure24 Run24 event .  Keith my better half and our teams organiser decided that it was the ideal time to get the whole Bosh/Endure 24 team together (prior to Kevs explosive appendix) and so we all met up at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, for their Park Run.  They are a narrow fit but I like to feel secure in a pair of trainers, so...

Race report by Jennifer Desmoulins. Purbrook Ladies 5 Miles 1/6/2014 At nearly 7 months pregnant, I have significantly decreased my running distances and pace. I aim to do some sort of activity 3 times per week; alternating between running, walking and swimming. However, a local 5 mile ladies race was the perfect event to enter to make sure I could run the required 5 miles for the upcoming Endure24. I entered on the day and was very nervous about even completing the event as I hadn't ra...

Mizuno Endure 24

Shoe Review by Steve Wise. Having recieved my Mizuno Wave Hayate trail running shoes three weeks ago, I have only managed to wear them once. Removing them from the packaging I imeadiately loved the bluey red mottled colour - they are very atractive shoes & I was keen to run in them. My first run was at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire and I couldn't wait to put them on. Again, like the Mizuno Wave Sayonara shoes, they were a nice, comfortable fit. They felt very soft to th...

Mizuno Endure 24

Mizuno Wave Hayte  I received the shoe the week before my London 2 Brighton 62 mile ultra marathon. This put me in an awkward predicament! I had no time to break it in. So like any maverick runner would do, I packed them anyway.  The morning of the race was wet. When I say wet…I mean monsoon. Basically last years entire rain fall on May last year fell in one day.  The start of the London 2 Brighton is mainly road before you meet the trail about 15 miles in. This is where, like a for...

Mizuno Endure 24

Thanks to the generous people at Mizuno, we have been given the Mizuno Wave Hayate (the official shoe of Endure 24)  to try. First impresssions are that it is a very stylish shoe, and wouldnt look out of place on the feet of the young, hip kids I see hanging around macdonalds! But this is a trail shoe so I thought  i'd best give it a run round a forest and get it dirty. So I did. On further inspection, and as soon as I put it on, I realised that this is a less cushioned shoe than what I am us...

Endure 24

It with great sadness that we have to announce that Kev White has had to withdraw from Endure 24 team Bosh. He was rushed into hospital a couple of weeks ago for an emergency operation to remove a ruptured apendix. He has been told not to run for 6 weeks. However, we have recruited a replacement. Please welcome on to the team Pete Phillipson! Pete has run a few marathons and has done the addidas thunder run last year and is currently fit and well so he should fit right in with the team.

Race report by Keith Elshaw Marlborugh Downs challenge. 11/05/14  For my second Ultra I chose the Marlborough Downs Challenge. Quite a few people at my club have done it and they all say it is tough but beautiful. (like the wife!) I have recently been struggling with a hip problem. It’s not an injury as such it just flares up after a couple of hours running and makes running painful, but I can switch to a run/walk method and keep going. As soon as I stop running it is fine so I just hav...
